  • From Tuesday, May 19 – Wednesday, May 20, 2015 AHF, in partnership with the Latin American Society of Pediatric Infectious Disease (SLIPE) and the FIU Global Health Consortium, convened a Dengue Workshop in Miami inviting members of the Dengue Task Force, dengue KOLs and representatives from the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) from a number of dengue-endemic Latin American countries. The purpose of this workshop was to discuss dengue vaccination policy and implementation of vaccination programs in the Region. The Dengue Workshop was chaired by Dr.
  • On Monday, May 18, 2015 AHF, in partnership with the Latin American Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (SLIPE) and the FIU Global Health Consortium, convened a Dengue Task Force meeting in Miami comprised of clinicians from the Latin American region who specialize in diagnosing and treating dengue. The purpose of the meeting was to generate discussions on the Integration of a dengue vaccine as an additional program for prevention and a control tool that can strengthen the process of decision-making. The Dengue Task Force members include:

  • The Americas Health Foundation, a non-governmental, non-profit organization created to improve public health in Latin America, today announced the launch of the Latin American Prizes for Dengue Initiatives to support initiatives seeking to combat dengue, a highly endemic disease in the Region. Launched in partnership with Break Dengue, the awards will recognize low-cost initiatives that propose awareness campaigns, surveillance methods or innovative tools to help control the impact of dengue in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. Applications will be open February 1st through March 20th of 2015.
